ASM Materials Camp®-Teachers I: The Basics

This week-long, hands-on lab experience shows educators how to use applied engineering techniques in their classroom.

The program targets middle and high school educators, offering methods that make math and core science principles more enticing and relevant to their middle and high school students.

ASM Materials Camp®-Teachers II: Advanced

The Materials Camp®-Teachers II/Advanced (sometimes referred to as 'Year 2 Camp') is for educators who have already attended Materials Camp®-Teachers I. Primary goal is helping teachers prepare and implement a successful Materials Science course.

ASM Teacher Institute

Year-long professional development for Title 1 school teachers and those serving in under-served communities.

Program components:

  • Attendance at Materials Camp-Teachers in El Paso, TX (June 8-12, 2026)
  • Monthly professional development sessions (in-person and/or virtual)
  • Support for implementing programming and course content

Virtual ASM Materials Camp®-Teachers

Four virtual sessions offered:

  • June 1-5
  • June 15-19
  • July 6-10
  • July 20-24

Note: Option for graduate credits is NOT offered for the Virtual Materials Camp-Teachers.

Traditionally, in-person ASM Materials Camps® are held across North America. These are usually five-day camps and may be residential (requiring overnight stay), commuter (daily) or mini-camps (one day or less). Typical schedule is 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (Monday-Thursday) and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. (Friday).

Please note that applications for ASM Materials Camps®-Teachers and all Specialty camps are separate. Applicants are admitted to the program on a first-come-first-served basis.
